Fort Sill soldiers honored in patching ceremony

FORT SILL, OK (TNN) - Soldiers were honored with a patch Wednesday to recognize them as part of a unit.

The patch represents them being part of the Army Futures Command's cross functional teams.

The teams are focused on long-range precision fire and air and missile defense.

The Brigadier General over the Air Missile Defense Cross Functional Team at Fort Sill says they are doing everything in their power to make sure the Army evolves," said Brig. Gen. Randall McIntire. “We’re working with industry and academia, that’s part of what we’re doing is making sure we have the best ideas.”

Aside from the two teams at Fort Sill, other modernization priorities in the Army include next-generation combat vehicles, future vertical lift, network and soldier lethality.
