LAWTON, OK (TNN) - Oklahoma’s governor-elect was in Lawton Thursday night, kicking off a series of pre-inaugural celebrations with a Bison Bash.
The event was held at the Comanche County Fairgrounds and provided plenty of fun for attendees. The Bash featured live music from Jimmie Allen, along with a warm barbecue meal. All the while, attendees shared the company of Kevin Stitt, his wife and other elected officials.
But it was not Stitt’s first time in Lawton, something he discussed as he spoke to the community.
“We made a trip down here, it was so important for us to visit all 77 counties. I wanted to make sure that everybody knew that I was gonna be the governor for all 4-million Oklahomans. So when all of Oklahoma thrives and grows, that’s good for everybody. So I want you to know we are focused on commerce, we are focused on bringing jobs to Lawton, to Southwest Oklahoma," said Stitt as he addressed the audience.
The governor-elect’s next big event will be a children’s festival in Tulsa on Saturday, with an Inaugural Ball and Dinner following on Monday in Oklahoma City.
