RBNC goes galactic

WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - The River Bend Nature Center went intergalactic Saturday afternoon for its Science Saturday event.

Science Saturday: The birth of a Star included a dancing star skit, an exploration of a star’s live cycle and an art project, creating the star life cycle in a collage.

Education Coordinator Leslie Cusick-Fernendez says all ages are welcome to the bi-weekly events.

“Every other Saturday, we have a pre-K program in the morning and a program for the older kids in the afternoon,” Cusick-Fernendez said. “They’re all science based and involve a lot of art projects and hands on projects.”

Other upcoming Science Saturday events will feature Issac Newton and the laws of motions.

Science Saturday’s are free with the price of admission or a river bend nature center membership.

General admission to RBNC is $5. Memberships are as low as $25 per year for students, $30 a year for adults and $50 a year for families.

Membership comes with a number of benefits including free admission to the nature center during regular business hours and discounts to the gift shop and for children’s birthday parties.
