Lawton man sentenced for drug and burglary convictions

LAWTON, OK (TNN) - A Lawton man acquitted of murdering a man in 2013 has been ordered to spend the next decade behind bars on drug and burglary convictions.

29 year-old Klayton Kitchens was sentenced for the crimes Friday.

Police say in 2017, he stole some equipment and diesel fuel from a Lawton shop, then threatened the shop owner when he filed charges.

Officers say that same year, they found 17 grams of meth along with other drugs in Kitchens' home, as well as drug paraphernalia like glass pipes and digital scales.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the drug convictions and seven years to serve concurrently for the burglary case.
