CACHE, OK (TNN) - Miss Oklahoma visited Cache High School Friday.
Ashley Thompson spoke to students about building better lives through teamwork and the importance of education.
She said traveling across the state to share the program with different schools is an important part of being Miss Oklahoma. “I hope that they take away that they can really achieve anything that they put their mind to. That we should not limit ourselves but work hard to pursue our goals and even if we don’t achieve it the first time or the second time, for me it took ten times. So, just really realizing the power of having a dream and doing anything they can to achieve it,” said Thompson.
So far, she has visited between 75 and 100 schools.
She believes being in the same age demographic and her recent college graduation makes students responsive to her message.
Her next stop will be in Harrah, then Enid.
