Duncan man arrested after allegedly choking wife, shooting gun

DUNCAN, OK (TNN) - A local man is in jail facing a felony charge after allegedly choking his wife and shooting a gun inside a Duncan home.

According to court documents, Dakota Goff, 26, was arrested last week after officers were called to a home in the 3600 block of East Elk for a physical domestic.

When officers arrived they spoke with the homeowner and uncle of Goff who told them he was around back trying to hang himself. When officers spoke with Goff, he reportedly told them he had choked his wife after finding out she was cheating on him. Goff said his wife had hid in a closet before he broke down the door and grabbed his gun. His uncle then tried to stop Goff and that is when he “started shooting.”

Goff’s uncle told police the two had wrestled after his nephew had grabbed the gun and that Goff started “shooting wildly” and was “trying to shoot anybody he could.” After the gun ran out of bullets, Goff had allegedly headbutted his uncle in the nose. Officers said the uncle was still bleeding when they arrived.

Officers say they found a .40 caliber handgun and three spent casings inside the home.

Goff was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon. He is currently being held on $50,000 bond.
