MARLOW, OK (TNN) - A Marlow man going on trial for a child pornography charge in 2017 now faces another felony charge.
We first brought you the story in 2017, when an FBI investigation determined child pornography had been downloaded to Matthew Hale’s computer. In December of 2017 Hale was charged with 13 counts of Possession of Child Pornography after a search warrant was executed and multiple electronic devices were seized.
According to an affidavit released last week, while preparing for trial officials discovered a photo that was extracted from Hale’s computer which depicted Hale engaging in a sex act with a then 9-year-old girl. Authorities were able to recognize Hale in the photo by tattoos on his arm. Investigators were able to match his tattoos to the photo by looking at photos of Hale on his social media accounts. Investigators also were able to match the background of the photo with the living room at Hale’s residence.
On January 11, investigators went to Hale’s residence in the 500 block of North Ash in Marlow. According to the affidavit, investigators showed Hale the photo and he admitted to police that it was him in the photo.
Matthew Hale is now facing an additional charge of Child Sexual Abuse. He was transported to the Stephens County Jail and is being held on a $1 million bond.
