WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Officials say three Florida men were arrested in late December after DPS Troopers discovered more than fifty pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
Troopers pulled over the car for going 4 miles per hour above the posted speed limit on US 287 in Wichita County on December 20th, 2018.
The driver, Angelo Nuni, 22 of Jacksonville, Florida initially refused to give permission to search the car. Troopers called in the assistance of Wichita County Sheriff K-9 Cane, who alerted to the smell of narcotics.
A search revealed a duffel bag filled with more than 56 pounds of marijuana and 589 grams of THC extracts and concentrates.
Police charged Nuni, as well as his passengers, Orest Pellumbi, 19 and Nicholas Seymour, 22, all of Jacksonville, Floarida with Possession of more than 50 pounds of Marijuana. Nuni was also charged with Money Laundering for more than $7,000 in cash found in his wallet.
All three have since bonded out of the Wichita County Jail.
