Junior ROTC students and Disabled American Veterans send care packages to troops

WICHITA FALLS,TX (TNN) - Junior ROTC students from Wichita Falls joined with a local chapter of Disabled American Veterans to send care packages to troops overseas.

They worked Wednesday morning to get the packages together, which included letters thanking troops for their service. Other items included hygiene products like soap and shampoo, as well as snacks, clothes and books.

“It shows me the gratitude that these young men and woman are stepping up to the plate, and doing something about our people in the war,” said Joel Jimenez, Commander of Chapter 41 of the Disabled American Veterans.

The supplies were sent to Fort Sill before they will be sent off to Iraq or Afghanistan.
