LPD is looking into why Chickasha murder suspects were in Lawton

LPD investigating why Chickasha murder suspects were in Lawton

LAWTON, OK (TNN) - On January 28th, Arnold Adams III was shot and killed outside his apartment in Chickasha. Late Monday night, Lawton PD arrested the final two suspects involved in the homicide investigation, 16-year-old Dmillion Williams and 18-year-old Malcolm Jackson.

“We’ve had robberies that have occurred in Lawton over the past couple of days and one of our officers was patrolling his area. He noticed two males hanging out at one of the businesses that had been robbed recently. As he approached them and tired to stop them, they both took off. After the pursuit, we arrested them and took them into custody,” said Sgt. Timothy Jenkins

LPD was surprised when they booked Williams and Jackson and found out they had warrants out for them in connection to the homicide investigation in Chickasha.

“Even if they aren’t from our local area just getting them off the street helps us and anybody around because if they are from here or from another area, people frequent Lawton," Jenkins said. "People come here, they shop they work, so if they are trying to commit crime here that does affect us.”

But at this point, Jenkins says investigators have not connected the pair to other crimes.

“One of the agents investigating the case is looking into that, trying to figure that out and get that avenue but until we talk to them and figure out exactly what they were planning to do and why they were here in Lawton, we won’t know any connection to that," said Sgt. Jenkins

For now, the homicide investigation is out of the Lawton Police Department’s hand, and will be further investigated by Chickasha Police Department as well as OSBI.

Dmillion Williams is being held at Comanche County Juvenile Detention Center and Malcolm Jackson was moved to Grady County Jail.
