LAWTON, OK (TNN) - Students and parents from Lawton Public Schools listened to a motivational speaker at an event at Eisenhower High School.
Tyler Durman tours the country and made stops at three high schools in Lawton today ahead of the community-wide event that happened Wednesday night.
During his speeches Wednesday he talked to students about how to live a better life and how it’s okay to be imperfect.
He says he wants to get families to focus on each other. “It’s so important. These days we tend to work in sound bites, and kids particularly, and parents through our phones, we don’t take the time to stop and reflect like we used to," said Durman. ″I’m gonna help parents tonight.. and it’s so important to clarify their role and understand what their kids’ real needs are."
The Terry K. Bell Foundation made Wednesday’s visit possible by a $6,000 grant.
