LAWTON, OK (TNN) - Dirt was flying Saturday night at Boss Speedway’s first race of the season. Saturday night was the opener for the 2019 season Championship points series.
Racers from ages three and up compete in different divisions in caged karts and micro sprints. This is the first time micro sprints have had a home track in the area since Faxon Speedway closed roughly 20 years ago.
Track owner and promoter, Johnny Landers, says if you’ve never been out to a race, come on out because it’s definitely something everyone needs to see.
“If you’ve never seen a three-year-old run 65 miles an hour down a straight away and control what’s going on, you haven’t seen anything. You haven’t lived yet," said Johnny Landers, owner and promoter. "It’s exciting. It’s exciting to see.”
The track is located south of Lee near the Goodyear plant. General admission is $10 and kids 10 and under are free. Races will continue through the summer.
