First Alert 7 Forecast: Spring begins and a Spring-like pattern develops into the weekend

LAWTON, OK (TNN) - Warm temperatures with rain and storm chances expected this weekend.

A nice evening is ahead under mostly clear skies. Temperatures will drop into the mid 50s by 9PM and mid 30s by tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be just about a 10/10 thanks to sunshine, light winds, and highs near 70. Increasing clouds tomorrow evening through Friday, lows in the mid 40s. Mostly cloudy but mild on Friday with highs near 70. Scattered showers and storms are likely Friday evening in far western Texoma then spreading east Friday night. Periods of showers are likely into Saturday morning before moving east. Mostly cloudy Saturday afternoon with highs in the mid 60s. A few showers or storms could redevelop Saturday evening.

Another piece of energy will move through on Sunday and a dryline will setup in eastern Texoma. This may provide a spark for isolated severe storms during the evening. The best chance may be near I-35 but a few could form along Hwy 81 or as far back as I-44. We’ll watch this closely. Otherwise, expect a mostly sunny and very warm day with highs in the low to mid 70s east and around 80 west. Breezy south to southwest winds 15-25 mph.

A cold front will pass through Sunday night into Monday morning, keeping highs in the 60s Monday and upper 50s Tuesday. Skies will turn mostly sunny. A big warming trend could take place from mid to late next week.

Have a great evening!
