LAWTON, OK (TNN) -The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has cleared the way for a Lawton man to stand trial for his wife's murder.
Brandon Harris is accused of killing Heather Harris in February of 2018. Police say the two were high on meth when they got into a fight. Court documents say Brandon tied Heather’s wrist and legs and one of the items he used to tie her also caused her to become unconscious and she later died.
He was originally charged with manslaughter, but it was later upgraded to second degree murder. Following his preliminary hearing, Harris appealed a Comanche County District Judge’s ruling that there is enough evidence to order a trial. We’ve learned that appeal has been denied and Harris is now set to learn his trial date Monday at his formal arraignment.
He remains in jail on one-million dollars bond.
