LAWTON, OK (TNN) - A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Lawton has set the date for their next yard sale fundraiser.
Cedar Crest Manor has been raising money to get an automated door installed since last year.
This will allow the residents to have easier access out to the court yard.
The door cost $8,000, and they’ve raised about $4,500.
Physical Therapist Assistant, Julie Stangle says this new door will help the residents a lot and they are still accepting donation items for the sale. “When we see them trying to get in and out of this door while propelling their wheelchair, it can be very difficult and unfortunately a lot of them opt to not go outside which is disheartening because this is their home and we want to see them access all areas of their home.”
The yard sale fundraiser will take place at Cedar Crest Manor just off of Ft Sill Blvd next Saturday from 7 to 4 in the afternoon.
Monetary donations for the project are also welcomed.
