First Alert 7 Forecast: a strong cold front will put an end to this warm streak

LAWTON, OK (TNN) -Much cooler air will arrive tomorrow morning and stick around into the weekend.

Warm, windy, and partly cloudy this evening with temperatures falling into the upper 70s by 9PM. A strong cold front will arrive between 2AM (northwest) and 7AM (south), and winds will shift to the northwest. Temperatures will quickly drop into the upper 40s tomorrow morning then recover into the 60s during the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Northwest winds 20-30 mph.

Tomorrow night will be quite chilly with a few clouds and lows in the mid to upper 30s. Expect increasing clouds on Friday with highs staying in the 60s.

A wet start to the weekend is expected with periods of cold rain on Saturday with perhaps a few rumbles of thunder. No severe storms are expected. A half inch to inch of rain possible. Highs will only be in the upper 40s to low 50s with a north breeze. Rain will clear out Saturday night. Lows in the upper 30s. Increasing sunshine on Sunday but cool with highs in the low 60s.

Much warmer temperatures will return early next week. Highs should reach 80 Monday and Tuesday. Another storm system may bring rain by Wednesday.
