Altus police arrest man after he reports hit and run

ALTUS, OK (TNN) - Altus Police arrested a man after investigating a hit and run traffic accident.

According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, Police responded to the hit and run around 11:30 Wednesday night.

During their investigation they ran a warrant check on the man who reported the wreck, 20-year-old Yashawn Tate. They discovered Tate had warrants in Pima County, Arizona for 2 counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The warrants were issued in February of 2018.

The bond amount on those warrants totaled $25,000 dollars.

Tate was taken to the Jackson County Jail while he awaits an extradition hearing.

Tate has been an active duty member since March of 2018 and was stationed at Altus Air Force Base.
