LAWTON, OK (TNN) - It’s time to turn in applications to join the Lawton Police Department.
We're told more than 100 applications were taken, but only about 20 have been turned in.
LPD says it’s important to get those applications in so the interview process into becoming an LPD officer can begin.
“We want them turned in because we want to consider everyone who wants to be an officer. We know that we need more officers and the community wants to help out and be police officers, so we wanna remind people so we can boost the police force and get more boots on the ground for the community," said Sgt. Timothy Jenkins of LPD.
The deadline to turn in applications is Friday, April 19th.
You can do that in building 900 of the Great Plains Technology Center.
The following day applicants will take a physical exam, followed by a written test.
If you have any questions about the hiring process and what’s next call the training division.
