First Alert 7 Forecast

LAWTON, OK (TNN) -Good Morning Texoma! Temperatures are nice and mild to start the day with a lot of places in the upper 50s and lower 60s. It is also very humid outside as dewpoints are also in the upper 50s to lower 60s. This could develop a little fog for portions of the viewing area. All of this moisture will continue to hold into the afternoon due to winds out of the south. This moisture will help develop afternoon thunderstorms in portions of the viewing area anytime around 5PM. A few of these storms are expected to be on the severe side. We have issued a First Alert Weather Day for this afternoon. The biggest threats we are keeping an eye on with these storms will be very large hail and damaging winds, though an isolated tornado or two can’t be ruled out. Hail could grow to the size of tennis balls with the stronger storms. Places with the best chance to receive severe weather today are between I-44 and I-35.

Things will quiet down later tonight and early tomorrow morning. Cooler temperatures in the low 70s are on their way for tomorrow afternoon. We will see plenty of sunshine tomorrow afternoon. Friday afternoon will be sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s.

Easter Weekend is looking very nice with temperatures in the 80s. Sunny skies will hold through Saturday, but then a few clouds build in on Sunday. We are keeping Sunday evening dry for right now, but we could possibly see a few evening showers develop in portions of the viewing area. Better rain and storm chances move in for Monday and Tuesday.
