    Horse riders from all over the country are gathered in Duncan this weekend for a special horse show. The Sooner State and Camino Real Horse Clubs are hosting the 25th annual Peruvian Horse Show. This is the fourth time the show has been held in Duncan and promises to wow attendees with specially-bred show horses showing their stuff. Eighty-three horses will go head to head to show off their breeding, gait, and performance.

    May 26th is the first day 2017 National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club Central Frontier Meeting in Lawton. The group promotes motorcycle riding and safety.  The annual meeting fosters camaraderie among the motorcyclists while educating the public about the accomplishments of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers – six all-black regiments established by Congress to following the Civil War.

    We joined with the Oklahoma Blood Institute and the Oklahoma Pork Council to help save lives through a blood drive today. Officials say that there were triple more donors than on a regular day. All donors received a free pulled-pork sandwich from the Oklahoma Pork Council, a free t-shirt, a pass for two to the Oklahoma City Zoo, and entry into a contest to win a catered barbecue pork picnic for 40 people.

    For months, teachers have been asking lawmakers to find a way to fund a pay raise for educators across the state. And, as it looks like teachers will go another year without a pay raise, many are making the decision to leave the state. Shawn Sheehan, Oklahoma’s Teacher of the Year in 2016, announced that he has made the decision to Texas make more money in the classroom:

Those in charge are expecting anywhere from 80-90,000 people to attend. Concert-goers can expect a good time, a lot of people, and even possibly some rain tomorrow.

    82 year-old Leaman Lee Wilkes of Cement has accomplished plenty in his life, with an Associates Degree, a Bachelor's, 2 Masters Degrees, as well as a 20 year career in the Air Force. But on Thursday night, he achieved another goal and walked across the stage at Cement High School receiving his diploma.
