    Happening this weekend, the Corum Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their annual meat and greet fundraiser. It's taking place this Saturday at 11.  They'll be having a big barbecue lunch followed by a board meeting.  It is free but donations are gladly accepted. The volunteer department recently got a new fire engine from the forestry service. They're looking to raise money to get it in-service and available for use.

    PSO is celebrating the "Week of the Young Child" by donating 1,700 books to the United Way's Success by Six "Prescription for Reading" program. This morning, those books were given to four local pediatricians who will hand them out to kids after their check-ups. One pediatrician says it amounts to about a year's worth of books for her.

    A second man has been arrested in connection to the murder of Joseph Angelo, 24, who was shot 36 times in the face and torso in front of a Guthrie home two weeks ago. Witnesses saw three people running from the home shortly after the shooting took place.

    According to the State Department of Corrections, Oklahoma set a new state record for the number of prison inmates. Housing 62,000 inmates accounts for a large part of the state budget. Oklahoma is currently housing more people behind bars than ever before. Many of the inmates either are incarcerated for non-violent drug offenses or suffer from mental illness.

    We are learning more about the suspects in the shooting death of an OU student from Iowa Park, Texas. According to the Oklahoma Court System Network, one of the four suspects has three felonies including burglary and concealing stolen property. Another suspect has charges of possession of marijuana and trying to sell paraphernalia.

    The man charged with killing an Oklahoma sheriff's deputy last week is due in court today. The district attorney says she is seeking the death penalty for Nathan LeForce. He's accused of shooting Logan County Deputy David Wade several times while Wade was serving an eviction notice. He later died during surgery. Nathan LeForce was arrested about 15-miles away.     A series of meetings in the Oklahoma capitol that were focused on increasing taxes on gasoline and diesel have been postponed. It's not clear why they have been re-scheduled. The meetings were set to focus not only on taxing gasoline, but tobacco and increasing the Gross Production Tax on oil and natural gas production. Smaller producers are asking the legislature to do away with a rule that dropped that tax from 7 to 2 percent on new wells.

    The National Weather Service has confirmed after evaluating storm damage in the town of Adair that it was hit by two tornadoes earlier this week. The Tuesday night twisters were both given EF-1 ratings. There were no injuries reported, though dozens of homes were damaged and trees torn down in the storms. The National Weather Service says the tornadoes touched down just southwest of Adair around 11:30 Tuesday night.

    Duncan residents are getting a chance to voice their opinions on what improvements and recreational activities they want available and added to the city's lakes. Tonight, the Duncan Lakes Commission and the City of Duncan will host a public meeting to get input on the planning process.  The city has a $90,000 budget and has contacted engineers out of Oklahoma City who are ready to go to work.
