SOBOL, Okla. (AP) - Three people have died after their car ran out of gas on state Highway 3 in southeastern Oklahoma and got hit by a tractor-trailer.
The Oklahoma Highway patrol says 37-year-old Monique Lanier of Fort Towson and 2 of her grandsons were killed around noon Wednesday after their Nissan sedan stalled out in the westbound lane near Sobol in Pushmataha County.
The highway patrol says a Lanier's daughter got out of the car to try to push it out of the roadway and was able to get out of the way before the truck hit the car.
OHP identified the two children killed as 3-year-old Dalton Phomas and 10-month-old Maurick Lanier.
The truck's driver was treated and released.
