LAWTON, Okla. - The US Army Field Artillery Museum officially opened to the public at 8:30 am Wednesday morning at Fort Sill, but 7News got an early look inside on Tuesday.
The ribbon cutting signified the work that started 11 years ago to get a new, bigger museum, which would separate from Fort Sill's general museum. On the walls, uniforms, insignias, guns and exhibits tell the story of the Field Artillery all the way from the Revolutionary war to the present.
If the pictures and artifacts are not enough, a range of cannons helps show the public exactly what equipment our soldiers used up to the current day.
The new Field Artillery Museum was an official centennial project for the state of Oklahoma. Hours at the musuem are 830 am to 5 pm. The museum is located on Randolph Rd., building 238.
