COMANCHE COUNTY_ Two chases kept local law enforcement busy this weekend. The latest happened Saturday night. Medicine Park police say a driver almost crashed into an officer's car and then led him on a pursuit.
Several agencies joined in the search for the driver after he pulled into a driveway off Highway 58 just south of Big Rock Mountain Estates.
The officer says two passengers in the car surrendered, but the driver took off running into some woods. Police and sheriff's deputies brought in a dog to help locate the man. Medicine Park's police chief says the driver was captured a few hours later. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI, eluding and obstruction.
In an unrelated incident, a group of speeding motorcyclists kept the highway patrol, Comanche County Sheriff's deputies and Lawton police busy for a while Saturday afternoon. Authorities say OHP stopped four bikers on the turnpike, but two of them decided to take off.
They led law enforcement on a chase to near 82nd and Lee in Lawton, where one of them threw down his bike and took off running. Officers were able to catch him. He faces charges for disobeying a lawful order, attempting to elude and driving under suspension.
The other motorcyclist got away.
