ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - David Murphy and Adrian Beltre both homered yesterday in the Texas Rangers' 3-1 victory over the Oakland Athletics. Ross Wolf picked up the win for the Rangers in his first major league start. Jarrod Parker took the loss for Oakland after giving up three runs in seven innings.

HOUSTON (AP) - J.D. Martinez hit a two-run homer last night as the Houston Astros defeated the Kansas City Royals 3-1. Jordan Lyles improved to 2-1 on the year after allowing one run and six hits in his 50th career game. George Kottaras hit an RBI double for the Royals.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker plans to have an MRI on his troublesome left calf. Parker says the MRI is "just to make sure" he's improving on scheduled from the injury. The Spurs lead the Western Conference finals 2-0 over the Memphis Grizzlies.

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Ray Parker pitched eight-plus strong innings yesterday to lead Texas A&M to a 5-0 win over Vanderbilt in the second round of the Southeastern Conference baseball tournament. Cole Langford, Hunter Melton and Troy Stein all homered for the Aggies. The top-seeded Commodores didn't manage and extra base hit and was shut out for the first time this season.
