Grassfires burn in Comanche County

A grassfire is burning in Comanche County at 38th St. between Tinney and Pecan Roads this afternoon and began just about 3:30 pm.  Several fire departments began battling the expanding blaze when three others in the same are were discovered.

Comanche County Emergency Management Director Clint Wagstaff says the fires seem suspicious.  The first fire was called in at about 3:30 PM, and Geronimo, Flowermound and Lawton sent units to respond to all of them.  The second fire - at Railroad and Pecan - consumed a barn filled with hay, and the grassy area surrounding it.  Third fire was near that one.
