Tour of the Wichitas - The bicycle ride is scheduled for May 2 at 8am at the Museum of the Great Plains located at 6th and Ferris Lawton, OK This is a beautiful ride through Fort Sill and the Wichita Mountains. The tour leaves the Museum of the Great Plains at 8am on Saturday and could either be a short ride through the Historical Section of Fort Sill or a 30-60 mile trip through some of the most beautiful scenery in Oklahoma. There are rest stops with fruit, water and cookies. Pause at the Visitors Center and learn about the refuge along with what types of animals it supports and also the location of the hiking trails and fishing lakes. Following the tour, there is a bike festival complete wtih prizes for the best decorated bike, barrel racing, bike rodeos, bike repair shop and free helmets as long as they last.
