Local singer advances in "Operation Rising Star" competition

Undated_Lisa Pratt, a Lawton native now living in Fort Carson, Colorado, has advanced to another elimination round in the Army's version of "American Idol", called "Operation Rising Star".

Only six singers remain in the competition following Sunday night's round, in which the field was trimmed from twelve to six.  Next Sunday night, the field will be cut in half again.

Pratt was raised in Lawton and attended Cameron University. .

The competition is televised at 7pm on The Pentagon Channel, and they stream it online at pentagonchannel.com.

Contest scores come from the judge's ruling and viewers' votes.

The viewers cast their votes at oprisingstar.com.
