Drug bust had Lawton Police looking in sewer line

Posted:

LAWTON, Okla. - Lawton Police say they shut down a drug house Friday night in the Old Town North neighborhood. Investigators say they've had a search warrant on the home near 3rd and Ferris for some time after getting numerous complaints from the public about a man selling drugs there.

Detectives moved in after spotting the suspect's car at the home Friday.

"We served the warrant. Unfortunately, he was able to make it to the toilet and flush an unknown quantity, we're subsequently trying to retrieve it out of the system," said LPD Lt. Todd Palmer.

Police say they were able to recover some of the drugs from the sewer clean out line.

Inside, they say they found some crack cocaine in a can and next to the toilet where the drugs were flushed. At least one man was arrested and police say there could be more.
