Pedestrian killed in Lawton neighborhood

Lawton, Okla. - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup Monday night.  The accident happened just south of SW 27th and H Avenue around 9:30. The pedestrian died at the hospital.

Police say it's possible the victim stumbled and fell off the curb.  They also tell us the driver thought he'd just hit a pot hole, not a person, and continued to drive for a short time.

He realized something was wrong when other cars began flashing their headlights at him. That's when he turned around and went back to the scene.

Police interviewed the driver and some witnesses.  They have not made any arrests.
