Lawton convenience store robbery, suspect in jail

Lawton police are investigating an overnight convenience store robbery.  It happened around 1:00 a.m. at the Stripes on Sheridan Rd. at NW Lincoln.

According to dispatchers, the clerk said a man came into the store and demanded money. The clerk did not see a gun, but believes the robber had one in the pocket of his hoody.  He ran off after getting the cash.

Police searched the area and located a man they believe pulled off the heist.  They booked him into the city jail.

The case will now be presented to the district attorney.
