LPD investigating possible child abuse

LAWTON, Okla - Lawton police are investigating a case of possible child abuse after receiving a call about a baby who wasn't breathing. Police say when they arrived at the home near Gore and Northwest 24th street, the three-month-old girl was being held by her stepfather.

Police say the baby was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital where she was treated for obvious facial and head injuries. She was then flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Police tell us the little girl is alive, but they did not know her condition. They say the baby's mother was at the house when police arrived.

No arrests have been made in the investigation.
