OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - About 30 Oklahoma National Guard soldiers are scheduled to return home after a nearly yearlong deployment on a peacekeeping mission to the Sinai Peninsula.
A welcome-home ceremony is set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Guard's Regional Training Institute in northeast Oklahoma City.
The soldiers are members of the 90th Troop Command and the 120th Area Medical Support Company. More than 80 soldiers deployed in October 2010 in support of the Multinational Force and Observers mission in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.
The remaining troops are scheduled to return during the first week of October.
An independent international organization, the Multinational Force and Observers' mission is to supervise the security provisions of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty.
