MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth and seven other performers have been inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame
The Thursday night ceremony also brought Cheevers Toppah, Ralph Blane and Nokie Edwards into the hall.
Tulsa television station KJRH (http://bit.ly/rRpWny ) reports that two performers who have died are also included, Jesse Ed Davis and Bob Bogle. Bogle played with the instrumental group, the Ventures.
Entertainment writer Gene Triplett was inducted, as was basketball star turned jazz musician Wayman Tisdale.
Chenoweth is from Broken Arrow and is known for her stage presence and soprano voice. She says returning to Oklahoma keeps her grounded and that she is loyal to and proud of her home state.
