Cancer Barbie petition runs rampant

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, Texas - There's a brand new push to create a Cancer Barbie.

The idea is to show those little girls battling cancer that bald can be beautiful, and that just because you lose your hair, doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

A brand new Facebook page dedicated to pushing Mattel to come out with a Cancer Barbie is quickly gaining momentum. It only been up for a day or so, and it already has more than 7,000 fans.

We spoke with the folks at Harrington Cancer Center who say this doll could be just the thing to make the sick little girls smile, and show them they're not alone in this process.

Sharri Miller says, "The loss of your hair can be devastating. It's our crowning glory. Wouldn't you just wanna look in the mirror and say, hey this doll was made especially for me because I look like this or maybe my doll has cancer too."

If Mattel agrees and makes the Cancer Barbie, those behind the movement want part of the proceeds to go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
