COMANCHE COUNTY, Okla. – Construction on the embattled Trail Road project in Comanche County is set to start next Monday, putting an end to eight months of delays on a project that was started in April of last year.
Eastern District Commissioner Gail Turner says he and his crew now have the "letter to proceed" with the project from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Turner says the construction will start Monday morning on the north end of the road and that they will work in two-mile stretches at a time going south.
He says the road will be closed until the construction has been completed.
