Beloved storm chaser dies in head-on collision in Oklahoma

SAPULAPA, Okla. - The family of a Minnesota storm chaser is grieving this morning.Andy Gabrielson, a professional storm chaser, died in a head-on crash in Oklahoma on Interstate-44 near Sapulapa. Just Friday, he had been featured on Dallas' ABC affiliate WFAA News 8.

He said he had a life long interest in meteorology.

"Weather is ever changing, my friend. that's why I keep coming back," said Gabrielson.

He drove all the way from Minnesota to chase storms this week in North Texas. It was when he headed home that a driver slammed into his SUV the opposite way.

Several cars were involved and another passenger died. He leaves behind a three year old daughter.
