Lawtonians give Super Bowl predictions

Football fans across America were glued to the TV Sunday for Super Bowl XLVI.

The New England Patriots and the New York Giants faced off Sunday night in Indianapolis.

But even though many could not attend today's Super Bowl those who watched showed their support and their loyalty from state's away, even here in Lawton.

The sports bar was packed Sunday night.

Waitresses were busy handing out drinks and nachos to passionate fans on both sides.

The majority of fans were going for the Patriots, most of them Cowboy fans who said they would cheer for anyone but the Giants.

Every where you looked you saw jerseys; fans of both teams coming together all in the name of football.

But despite the friendly atmosphere of red, white, and blue, it was a bar divided Sunday night. 

In this sea of testosterone we even found a few people who could care less who won.

"I'm just here for the beer," said an honest patron.

Of course, others were just there for the commercials.

And possibly even more exhausted than the players in the actual game were the servers who fittingly were dressed as referees.

Pitcher after pitcher, plate after plate they hustled to keep their fans well fed and hydrated.

After all, cheering is a sport in itself…at least it seemed that way. 

The wait-staff was slammed, but say come the biggest day in football they are always prepared.

"This has been the talk of the week and everybody has been calling in for reservations. So we've been looking forward to it being busy," said server, Samantha Rogue.

While opposing fans could not agree on who was the better team, they did agree if their team won that they would waste no time  bragging.
