Local gas stations crowded with hopeful lotto players

LAWTON, OK._The Sunday night drawing of a string of six numbers possibly changed the life of one lucky winner.

The Oklahoma Power ball numbers have already been chosen with a mind blowing $325,000,000 on the line.

Gas stations around Lawton were buzzing with hopefuls on Sunday; all on a quest to turn a $3.00 ticket into a lifetime on the easy street.

Gas station attendant's told us that the day of every drawing they see a larger than normal crowd, but with a whopping $325,000,000 up for grabs, their usual line of customers nearly doubled.

Many hopefuls we talked to had a about a million ideas of how they would spend their winnings.

Some said they would quit their jobs, others said they would pay off their student loans, but the first thing on their list...

"Oh, first purchase...new car. I'm gonna get a brand new Nissan GTR," said one hopeful.

"If I won the big lottery, that's exactly where I would go...Arizona. And I'd start bidding on cars," said another man hoping to get rich quick.

And while a shiny new car was a priority for some, others said they would rather invest their money a little more wisely…stocks and bonds.

The gas station attendant we spoke with told us she is not a gambler herself, but said customers often handed her a ticket when buying several at a time.

But she says the most she has ever won was $14.00 from a scratch off.

Statistics say that letting the computer choose your numbers rather than you picking your own, has proven to be the most prosperous method.
