Lawton police investigate overnight shooting

Lawton- Lawton police were kept busy with a shooting and a car chase overnight.

Dispatchers sent police and an ambulance to the 14-hundred block of SW Bishop Road for a man shot in the face around 2:30 Friday morning. They later determined it happened near 8th and SW Monroe. Police tell us the man who was shot is in the hospital and is expected to survive. Detectives are currently questioning a person of interest to try and determine what led to the shooting.

Following the shooting, police were involved in a car chase along Sheridan road north to Fort Sill's Bentley Gate. We're told it was not connected to the shooting.
