Oklahoma-bound plane crashes in west Texas, 2 dead

Albany, Texas (AP) – Authorities say two people have died in the west Texas crash of a small plane that disappeared on a flight to Oklahoma.

Lynn Lunsford with the Federal Aviation Administration says the wreckage was found Tuesday morning and law enforcement confirms two deaths.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the wreckage of the single-engine Piper Comanche was discovered on a ranch about six miles northwest of Albany.

The FAA says the plane was flying from Abilene to Norman, Okla., on Monday night when the aircraft went off radar and radio contact was lost near Albany.  The search was concentrated near the community located about 150 miles west of Dallas.

An FAA database indicates the plane is registered to Baga Air Inc. of Wilmington, Del.
