Okla. House passes ramped up D.U.I. punishment bill

OKLAHOMA CITY – Drunk drivers who cause accidents with major injuries could soon face more prison time in Oklahoma.
A bill approved by the Oklahoma House of Representatives would increase the maximum punishment from five years to up to 10 years in prison for personal injury accidents involving a D.U.I.
The bill's author says the hope is that increasing the maximum penalty will stop people from drinking and driving, which caused more than 3,000 injuries in Oklahoma in 2010.
