It has long has been Matt's dream to work as a sports journalist. Growing up in a sports household, he thought about following in his fathers footsteps and becoming a coach, but ultimately decided in college to take a different career path.
From McKinney, Texas, Matt graduated high school in 2006. After a brief stint at another college he landed at West Texas A&M University in the fall of 2007. After graduation in May 2010, Matt landed his first professional job as a News Reporter and fill in anchor at KVII. Fifteen months later, he realized his childhood dream when he was named the Weekend Sports Anchor at KFDA. After a little more than two years, he was then named the Sports Director here at NewsChannel 10.
When he isn't at work you can find Matt on the golf course, playing softball or at home relaxing with his boxer Tyson. Growing up in the Metroplex, Matt is a huge fan of the Texas Rangers, and makes weekend trips home to see his parents Terry and David and catch a game as often as possible.
