Wintry winds knock out power briefly

Lawton_Winds of 30 miles an hour with gusts up to more than 60 miles an hour played havoc with power lines, high-profile trucks and people.

Power lines were hit in parts of southwest Oklahoma and almost 3,000 Lawtonians were without electricity Thursday morning.

Around 9:30am, the winds broke a cross arm on a power pole at Ferris and Sheridan.

Cameron University was one of the unlucky customers without power but PSO workers were able to restore electricity by mid-afternoon.
