Amarillo, TX - For more than 20 years, KiDSPACE has been family owned and operated.

"I have always set good business practices and I have adhered to them from the day one," KiDSPACE owner, Sandy Buttrill, said. "I have worked to be debt-free, pay-in-full, be on time."

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce just recognized the kids furniture store with the Blue Ribbon Small Business Award, an award that recognizes the go-getters of small businesses.

"There are so many small businesses, all across the United States," Buttrill said. "And we feel very blessed, you know, that we were selected in Amarillo."

Every day, KiDSPACE catches more people's attention.

"I had no idea there were so many different settings and I like that each little area is a whole collection so you don't have to go around and look in different places, everything is all together," KiDSPACE customer, Patsy Allen, said.

Her granddaughter, Emily, is expecting a child later this year.

"I didn't realize their was so much accessories, I mean, it's not just bedding," Emily Stowers said. "It's all kinds of decor and wall stuff and floral arrangements and I had no idea."

KiDSPACE says it strives to put its customers' needs first.

"Have extra services," Buttrill said. "Layaway, customer financing, special orders, you know, if the customer wants to order a specific thing than we try to figure out how to get it for them."

Those values are what is making it the only small business in Amarillo this year to receive the Blue Ribbon award.

"We feel blessed, so blessed, to be able to do what we love, do what we're passionate about, enjoy working for our community in the Amarillo and Lubbock region," Buttrill said. "We are very, very blessed."
