Amarillo, TX- Many are asking what could have caused the captain to start acting erratically and who is he.

Captain Clayton Osbon has been with Jet Blue for twelve years according to their media office, and in that time the CEO says he has never had any reason to believe he was a flight risk.

Osbon was most recently cleared to fly after a December medical exam by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA says the exam is primarily looking at their physical health, but their psychological condition is also looked at.

According to some who know him, Osbon had a great personality and showed no signs of anything being wrong.

"Clayton is a great guy. I've been knowing him for quite a few years now. Never, never anything negative about him. So this is really shocking for me to hear that this is happening to him," said Elton Stafford, a friend of Osbon.

Jet Blue originally said it was a medical situation, but in a second statement released they say as the situation continued they realized there was a security problem.
