Governor Rick Perry was among several government representatives from other states visiting the Beef Products Incorporated plant in Nebraska.
That is the company's only operating plant.
The other three were closed due to the controversy of using lean finely textured beef, commonly known as "pink slime."
More than 600 jobs were lost; including more than 200 at the plant in Amarillo.
The politicians touring the plant say they are showing their support for the company and believe "pink slime" has been unfairly maligned and mislabeled.
