Canyon, TX - After being arrested the second time in just days, former WTAMU football coach Ryan Leaf faces jail time again in our area.

Leaf was sentenced to ten years probation for several drug charges for breaking into a Canyon apartment and stealing pain medication, but now that Leaf has been arrested in Montana, he could end up behind bars.

The Randall County District Attorney's office says they received the incident reports from Montana officials, discussing the charges he faces in Great Falls.

Now that the district attorney's office knows of the charges they are able to file a motion to revoke his probation.

"We will be filing a motion to revoke his probation, alleging these new criminal violations, then we will seek extradition from Montana, unless he chooses to waive extradition and come back," said District Attorney James Farren.

Farren says because Leaf is also charged in Montana they are able to decide if they want to keep him or move him back to Texas.

If he is found guilty of violating his probation he would face up to twenty years in prison.
