Texas man accused of biting dog in fatal attack

Posted: Updated:

WACO, Texas (AP) - A Texas man is accused of beating, strangling and starting to eat his family's dog after chasing a neighbor on his hands and knees while barking and growling.

Michael Terron Daniel of Waco was charged with felony cruelty to a non-livestock animal in the fatal attack against the dog.

Daniel remained jailed Tuesday, a day after his arrest stemming from a June 14 incident. Waco police say a caller reported that a man was going crazy.

Officers say they arrived and found Daniel on the porch covered in blood and holding the dead dog.

Police say Daniel had told people at the home he had taken K-2, which is synthetic marijuana, then assaulted them and started biting the dog's flesh.

McLennan County Jail records don't list an attorney for Daniel.
