MARLOW, Okla_More than 12
hours after he was hit while walking down Highway 81 in Stephens County, no one
is sure why Daniel Sanchez was there in the first place.
It was 2:45 Tuesday
morning when authorities say the 28 year old from Marlow was hit just south of
the city limits. The driver said she'd been distracted and when she saw him, it
was too late.
Friends of Daniel
Sanchez said he was probably on his way to see his grandmother Tuesday morning,
who lives near the scene of the accident just south of Blackburn Road.
The driver of
the car that struck Sanchez admitted to being distracted by something in her
car, she looked down and when she looked back up, it was too late.
Friends of
Sanchez said he loved his family and would do anything for them, walked almost
everywhere unless somebody gave him a ride and he worked in the sound booth at Eternal Life Church
in Marlow.
Sanchez is survived
by his grandmother, his wife and a 2 year old son.
The Oklahoma Highway
Patrol said the accident is still under investigation.
We put in
multiple calls today to authorities, including the OHP and the sheriff, to see
whether there was any new information on Sanchez's death.
We have not heard back from them.
